Art a day keeps the crazies away

The move of our son has been successfully finished. Many thanks for the lovely comments on my previous post! Now I'm trying to get back to my usual everyday rhythm but up to now I'm still not fully back there. Something is different at home now although I know our son is very very happy in his new home. However, paper brushes and colors are always my universal remedy. And of course painting Mandalas ... this time I created them square. So to say in a quite different way what was quite an interesting experience for me. And I would love to know how square mandalas are named correctly.

Also auch mal ganz anders.

I will link it to PPF and the Sunday Sketches and Dion Dior's Friday Sketches.

A happy weekend to all of you!

  5. Stefanie, these mandalas are just stunning. How very clever to make them squared, and all the lovely patterns and colors as well. I could study these for hours.

  11. I love your square mandalas. I'd never thought about doing them "in the square." So much color. I read your previous post about your son moving into his own place. Been there and done that. I have a 23 yr old who has just moved in to his first apt in New York City. It is hard sometimes to let them go.

  12. the only thing that keeps the crazies at bay for me is paint also... i need pens in my hand and paint by my side or else i feel very grumpy... it fixes everything else... love the square mandalas... I think I like them better than circular ones actually.... and your gorgeous colours of course...xx

  14. I like your mandalas round or square. I know you will get use to the house without your son. It is hard when the kids leave. Your art will see you through.

  15. Maybe squandalas? Art is therapy for me and I can lose myself in the studio when given the chance. Like you squandalas by the way!

    1. Thank you very much for this great expression for a square mandala! I LOVE IT! I love it very much to name a square mandala squandala and I think I will also love it to use this word in the future. Will this be okay for you? I will also link the word "Squandala" with your website.

  23. So much detail in these mandalas! They are wonderful! I have had one daughter and two sons leave the nest, so far - with still one daughter and son at home. It is hard when one leaves, but after a time, you will soon fall into a new groove of things, and may even find you like the extra art time! Happy PPF!

    LG Claudia
