I am still busy with the online class "The Business of Being Creative" from Alisa Burke. As there are no drawing and painting exercises this time but only written exercises where I have to deal with myself and where I have to find out a lot of things about me and my relationship with art making I have created a "private and personal tour guide" who should do some accompanying consultation to support me. - I had this idea when I wrote a little text about my relationship to art making. The prompt was to think about the past with regard to my unique story and why I love it to make art. It was a great exercise as I found out that since my early childhood drawing and painting allows me to create my own magic world and to move around wherever I want to go. It makes my needs, dreams and quests visible and tangible for me and allows me to experience magnificent things and make all the stories I have in my head coming alive. So the conclusion is simple: Drawing and painting means a lot of magic to me and I think a garden gnome known from the fairy tales is for sure a good companion to continue this tour and to illuminate the dark corners either way.
